Scientific objectives
O1 In vivo biomarker sensing
Demonstrate the competence of intrabody nanoscale communication for in vivo detection of biomarkers with high accuracy. The project used early stage cancer and circulating tumour DNA as the main case study for modelling vascular biomarker detection.
O2 In body to on body communication
Design a communication architecture that respects the hardware, energy, and safety requirements of intrabody nanodevices. The project studied near field magnetism and passive magnetic backscatter as candidate routes for links between internal nanodevices and external or on body readers.
O3 Multi scale simulation
Develop a system level simulator that spans microscopic and macroscopic scales. The simulator direction connects sensing models, magnetic link models, vascular scenarios, and design space exploration.

Scope and maturity
BeNiFIt remained at modelling, simulation, and design analysis maturity. The project did not claim experimental deployment. Its contribution is a scientific foundation for future work on intrabody nanonetworks, vascular biomarker sensing, passive communication links, and open simulation tools.
Longer term direction
The project website remains the public entry point for outputs, activities, and follow on updates. The post fellowship plan is to maintain the site through March 2030, add new publications and software links where relevant, and support reuse of modelling methods and simulator components.
